When your bridge p'up it's just right

July Herrera /Reviewed 5/4/2017

When your bridge pickup it's just right. Tight, big, aggressive and warm. Clean up well and it's silent. Great mix, right?. Well this pickup it's all those things and more!!. With the EMG signature flavour and a bit of a passive taste, this pickup is the one for my guitar.
You can check how it sounds on my yt channel July Herrera. Cheers!.

Better dynamics, great for a wide range of styles

Jason Bender of Steel /Reviewed 4/6/2017

I just bought this to replace the 85 I was using in the bridge of my Schecter C-1 Platinum. HUGE difference. This guitar came equipped with the standard 81/85 combo, with the 81 in the bridge, and the 85 in the neck. I swapped the two positions because I liked the fatter tone of the 85 in the bridge, and the 81 in the neck position just has a more classic neck humbucker sound to it.

Overall, I was diggin the tones, until I got to rehearsal. The band I'm in has more of a 70's classic rock vibe, with a touch of modern heaviness. Unfortunately no matter how much you adjust the pickup or the gain, the overall sound of the the 85 is still what it is. So I bought the 57 as I used to have x-series pickups on a previous guitar (that I no longer own).

I was not dissappointed at all!! This pickup has more warmth, headroom, and dynamics that have a touch more hair than a standard passive humbucker, but overall sounds more full with a nice amount of "chew" to it. So far I'm diggin' this pickup. I've kept the 81 in the neck, and plan to eventually give the 66 a try, but for now this combo seems to have a nice balance to it.

The57 still has a voice that is somewhat passive, somewhat active, but is amazingly versatile and has rich harmonics to it.

EMG 57

Hunter /Reviewed 11/2/2015

I've been a die-hard Seymour Duncan fan for years, but I wanted more overall quality. I was leaning towards trying the 85 in the bridge but as soon I heard 57 I was hooked. Such a well rounded pickup, and even with the super high gain you would expect from an EMG, it cleans up crystal clear. At first, the price seemed a little much. After installed it I got exactly what I paid for. Worth every penny! I paired it up with a P85 in the neck now my Les Paul BFG sounds like Monster! Thanks EMG for making such a beast of a pickup in the USA!

EMG 57

Tony H. /Reviewed 1/4/2014

I am a passive pup fan but was stuck with EMG's in my Steve Lukather signature guitar that were very compressed and shallow sounding. These new 57's friggin grow and are very organic sounding, they are simply awesome. Even my guitar tech who is a Seymour Duncan guy was blown away. Now I need to put one in my back up Lukather guitar. Thanks EMG for saving the day!!!!
