The EMG PJX Set provides bass players flexibility and a wide range of tonal combinations with the added headroom and dynamic response of the X series preamp. EMG's PX adds warmth, and incredible low end punch, while the LJX provides a tight mid-range with dynamic high end response for a well defined attack. Used separately or in combination, they offer endless bass tone options with a response and feel that bridges the gap between passive and active pickups. The result are low noise, dependable pickups with tones ranging from tight slap funk, rock, to smooth Motown grooves. With EMG's solderless wiring harness included, the PJX Set is easy to install at home.

Would do it again!

David /Reviewed 1/26/2018

Installing these in my custom built bass had some unique challenges, and was more difficult than it needed to be. That being said, the support I received, by actual human beings on the phone, and not emails back and forth, or being told to, "read the forum," was a refreshing change. I also needed a replacement wire and was accommodated immediately, and was sent a wire with extra length to better fit my specific need with this instrument.

The solderless system is great for ease of use and for reliability. I like it so much I am installing these on all of my custom basses. I will also be recommending this specific combination to all of my custom build clients.

Once I plugged in and started to play I knew I had made the correct decision. The pickups, and the BQC System, sound amazing together. I can get a clean, razor sharp tone, a "Jaco" J-bass tone, a big, thick, P-bass tone, a more mellow Motown tone, or anything in between, and they all sound great.

I have a vintage Fender P-bass that hardly sees the light of day now that I have my custom bass loaded with these.

Get the X Series

alexander /Reviewed 7/11/2015

and another grand slam with the x series. i recently recieved a 4 string and 5 string p/j version.

very easy yet fun installation. i am really goin to miss torturing the hell out of my tech when it comes to pickup installations lol. but i have other ways of doing that.

the added headroom on these pups allowed me to dial in a more fuller and open sound.

the set price is right where it should be. as it is worth every penny !

i put the 4 string system into my very first bass that i ever owned. it brought some serious new life to it. that bass NEVER sounded as good as it does now with the new Emg P/J X series pickup system

Wonderful Bass Pups'!

JM /Reviewed 2/23/2014

I use these in a Spector NS-2A and love them! They work great with both EMG 2-3 OBP's in all my basses! Slightly pricey but quality costs! Overall I recomend these to anybody wanting a much more clear open sound than most "stock" bass pickups.
