Martino Garattoni/ Ne Obliviscaris/Ancient Bards
"Every clean bass player has just that one beautiful dream, the one that gives you goosebumps every time you think about it: please the sound engineer. I’ve never seen so many happy SEs as since I’m using EMG. Gives you the perfect tone to cut the right spot of the mix in every situation, studio or live shows. Every time the bass is connected and I plug my in-ear monitors, the pure pleasure starts. "
Martino Garattoni is based in Italy and currently plays bass guitar for the Australian progressive death metal band Ne Obliviscaris and the Italian power metal band Ancient Bards, keeping the dream of a loud and clean mid-focused tone alive in the metal world. He always studied funk and fusion virtuoso fingerstyle to give his bands that perfect mix between groove and prog melodies.
Main influences are Richard Bona, Janek Gwizdala, Daric Bennett, adding some various styles of tapping to complete the package.
After trying some EMGs back in the days, decided that was exactly the right tone to help and improve all of this, enhancing the right frequencies and giving some more power to his tone.
