Man, I must have been about 13 when I really started caring about guitar and playing music. I was always into heavy stuff and when I would go and find new bands, I would find out what gear they were into. More often than not if you played metal, you had a set of those Zakk Wylde 81/85s haha.
well, when I got my first "good" guitar, around 14, I made absolutely sure that it came stock with EMGs in it cuz you just weren't cool if you didn't have em ha. All jokes aside I found out quickly that they were truly amazing humbuckers and over the years they've only gotten more and more remarkable.
The set I use currently on almost all of my CH guitars is the 57/66 set. Those motherfuckers can go from balls to the wall with a nail through it to the most delicate soft clean tone. That for me is all I can ask for. EMG has done so much for me and it's still insane that little 14 year old James grew up to wave the EMG flag all
over the world.
