These are the most underrated pickups ever! I love the H2 Neck in combination with the H3 Bridge, parallel push pull on each and you have a super versatile instrument. They sound clean yet war with nice output and have the body and clarity you'd expect from an active pickup without the harshness! I have many vintage instruments and these are installed in my 80's guitars and they made a big improvement, thanks

I have had the H2 set in two different Single cut style guitars, one in a PRS SE 245 and another in a Vintage brand V100 singlecut in Ice-Tea burst and with the right Capacitors (Paper in Oil for best results), these pickups have more punch, definition and clarity than pickups double or triple the price range.

The only pickups that come close are the stock pickups in a PRS Santana III Private Stock. Seriously both the neck and bridge pickup just outshine any pickup I've tried since playing professionally. They have a vintage sweetness to them but have the kind of output you would typically see in a high gain pickup.

Cannot recommend these pickups enough. Great for any Genre, I use them for primarily in the worship circuit and they do cleans/crunch great and excel with pushed leads.

Well when these pickup's showed up in budget guitars I never paid much attention to them, thinking they were the new version of the SELECT By EMG.... Oh was I wrong!!!!!!!!

I have mounted the H2 Neck in 3 guitars now combined with the H3 in the bridge position, wired a serial parallel push pull pot instead of coil tap to have no noise in either setting and I am soooo pleased with the HZ's! It is a clean neck pickup with great sting separation and defined attach without sounding harsh! It is great in parallel mode making a great clean SC sounding vibe for funky rhythm stuff and even gives you the Hendrix on a crunchy channel! I find myself switching to there tech HB in solo's more often when riding in high gain!

I am not a metal guy by any means! just wanna make that very clear, I have mostly vintage Gretsch guitars, some tele's and a signature PRS SC 250 model, but on my 1984 Washburn tour 24 guitars I have installed the HZ H2 Neck and H3 Bridge pickups in all of the 3 guitars I have! If I have a little jam session gig or something I don't know what to expect, I take the tour 24 with the EMG's these days!

Got the H2 set and was shocked at the ease of install and quality upon receiving the set in the mail. Even more surprising is how much clarity and sparkle these pickups gave my PRS SE 245 in both the bridge and neck pickup. They can handle higher gain far easier, my cleans and crunch have a sparkle and clarity that wasn't there with the stock pickups. It's hard to find good reviews online with these pickups, or really any reviews to be honest. They are fantastic pickups that are extremely versatile and have a clarity and brilliance I've only ever associated with higher end pickups. Absolutely floored by these pickups!

    Best pickups ever!

I use these pickups to play metal mostly. Anything from E Standard to Drop C modern metal tunes and it handles them amazingly. Everything has a tight, articulate but at the same time bright and sparkly sound to it.

With the Bridge pickup I love to dig in and do heavy chugs and fast gallops where you get this really satisfying pick attack. At the same time the leads are so smooth and clear.

The Neck pickup fixed my problem with most neck pickups being very round and muddy sounding. Smooth, articulate and clear!

There should be more demos online and people making making metal with EMG H2's. EMG H2's need more love!

Well This pup is definitely full of surprises.

I usually play metal, hard rock, classic rock. This thing can deliver those sound really well.

Thick and warm yet very transparent. Using it in my alder body guitar and this thing screams! Excellent in high gain without any noise added.

Good response and vintage sounding. I prefer this rather than 81. It has the natural sound that 81 could not deliver.

These are great pick up. I've been trying to find a pickup that is comparable to the Probucker and the burstbucker and these are dead on. They're not as hot as any of the others but they have a crisp clean tone and a nice even responce. People will tell you you can't use it for anything heavy and that's probably true if you play that super tuned down junk but if you play guitar and do solos and you like your notes to be articulate and heard these are perfect. If you like drop c and you like that muddy stuff then these aren't for you

This pickup came to me by accident, just could buy it for cheap. First put in bridge, it sounded very clean, transparent and attack were prohibitive, but there was not enough power, although if I played on high gain. But the attack was very good. Later I moved him to a neck position, and then he delighted me. It is ideal for clean and for single-coil mode (there is glass even). Initially, I really wanted to play on SD Pearly gates, but this model impressed me even more. H2 sounds just as perfect on the frequencies as a SD, the same warm sound, and the readability is even better and the sound is more transparent, I think this is due to ceramic magnets. Thank EMG for this miracle, nowhere else is ceramics with the 8th place.
