The EMG JV Set is a mixture of old and new, utilizing traditional exposed pole pieces and EMG's active circuitry. Developed to deliver the classic tone and look of a vintage Jazz Bass without the noise often associated with vintage passive pickups.

This pickup maintains the "faded" attack of the offset pole pieces that many players prefer in combination with our lowest noise preamp. The JV Set will appeal to the player looking for a "retro" vibe with the active tone and response of an EMG.

Make sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.

All EMG Pickups are built to order. Estimated shipping is between 7-14 business days.

I can't say enough about the tone I get from my J-Bass. I was looking for a tone that was like a Geddy Lee, John Paul Jones & Flea vibe but didn't want the Fender Stock on a buildout I was creating. This is my 6th bass and I can't put it down. It does everything I may need for recording with tone and let me say that these pickups won't disappoint. I have a Humbucker set as well as PJ set in my other bass's....the one that has my JV Set is now what I start out with and the others...kind of collecting dust right now. Oh...they too are EMG's. I rated it a 4 star on "Ease of Install" just for the fact that when I routed a batter pocket, I had to modify the batter cable's length so that it could reach the jack input. It would be nice to see EMG come up with longer batter cables in the event of where you may have your battery pocket choice if you are building your guitars. "Rock On EMG" I've been using you since 1988.

Ordered these to replace the stock Fender Jazz bass pups on my MIM Fender Jazz. ;they installed perfectly, it's great having all the connections solder-less and the new pots included. The stems of the new pots are longer than the original. I had some extra washers so I was able to shim the back side so the stem was the same height as the original. knobs fit perfect now, nice and close to the plate. The sound still has the essential passive single coil feel, but with SO much more....more tone variety, more sustain, more bottom, more mid, more high, more adjust-ability to get precisely the tone mix you need. and noiseless!...no 60 cycle hum! First rehearsal last nite with the band for an upcoming gig, they were amazed. You can roll back into the mix, cut through the screaming guitar, round out for jazz, bring it hot for slap, etc. these take all the good attributes of the original pups and and then improve everything 10 x. EMG hit it on the money with this passive pup.
