I used this for an older set of EMG pickups (mid-late 80s, maybe older) that I got in a used Kramer bass many years ago.
I deviated from the instructions and spliced/soldered the pickup wires to the new connectors instead of soldering to the pots themselves, so I can connect like the newer EMGs and swap them pretty easy if need be. I used heat shrink tubing over the soldered wire connections, so it looked 'stock'.
These were a big improvement over the original controls, which were pretty well used between gigs and home-brewed body changes over the years. These new ones turned nicely, and the tone control was more useable and sounded better. With the new kit, turning the tone down a small amount rolled off only the top end so it seemed like a mid-boost - and turning it down more gradually removed upper frequencies (as opposed to the muffling effect of the old tone control).
