The EMG 40DCX is a powerful modern sounding humbucker for bass players looking to cut through a big loud mix. The two coils loaded with ceramic bar magnets provide punch and clarity with a crisp top end and plenty of output. EMG xGreat pickup. It’s dead silent and huge output. Pairs well with modern basses you want to hear everything you put into it. Lows are super tight and the harmonics ring out. Not much else to say other than I recommend pairing with the BTS or BQS system more maximum firepower

AWESOMEI'm not sure why there are no reviews on these pickups yet??? These are awesome awesome pickups with everything the DC pickups have - only much better! I just replaced my EMG TW pickups in my 2020 Spector euro 5lx with two EMG DCX and the EMG BQC preamp and have the best sounding bass I have ever played! If you decide to go with the DCX pickups you will not be disappointed!

Made by bass sound amazingI fell in love with these pickups the moment I played my first note through an amp. I installed two of the 40DCX into my ESP F-155DX with a BQS system, and both clean and distorted with a Darkglass pedal this sounds amazing. I was intimidated by the thought of installing it myself so I just paid Guitar Center to do it, and they had it done quickly so it must be easy. I am definitely going to put some of the 35DC into my Dean next.

Sound is massiveI purchased these as an upgrade to the factory pickups on my LTD Fretless 5. Due to an issue with my instruments manufacture install wasn't so easy and a guitar tech friend of mine had to rout out the holes a bit more, and running these at 9v was really not effective. Low end was fuzzing out. Installed the additional battery cable that I had left over and voila problem solved. The result though is a massive sound with delicate sensibilities. All that wonderful fretless growl is well articulated and I am very happy to add more EMGs to my bass cadre. Been using EMGs since circa 1985.
