The EMG Pi2 is an active phase reversal circuit mounted on a mini-toggle switch, and is used in guitars with two or more EMG Pickups. Wired in series with one of the pickups, the Pi2 mimics "out of phase" sound by reversing the phase of your pickup.

This active method of inverting the pickup's phase recreates that classic airy out of phase tone while maintaining the noise free operation of an EMG. It requires the same amount of space as a conventional phase switch, and thanks to EMG's solderless wiring, is easy to install on your own.

All EMG Pickups are built to order. Estimated shipping is between 7-14 business days.

I installed one of these in an experimental strat build I just completed. This guitar has 2x 89 dual mods pickups, an SA pickup in the middle, a switch to link bridge and neck, an EXG (high/low boost), an SPC (mid boost), a Pi2 attached to the middle pickup and a couple tone pots (yes 5 pots total). Out of all that one of my favorite combos has been to set it to position 2 (bridge / middle) out if phase then add a little mid range back with the spc boost. Gives a nice thin but not too thin tone to play with.

I useally install a push/Pull pot in Mt passive Guitars wired for phase reverse
...it's one of my favorite settings on many Guitars...but in my active Guitars I missed this... Until I got the pi-2 ad installed it with the 81-60 metal works set....it's perfect... It's actually got MORE Cut and definition in "out of Phase" mode than in bridge 81 position..
    Thank You EMG
