The BQC System is a complete control system for bass guitars. Active Balance, Master Volume and EQ circuits are included. The EQs allow you separate control over bass, midrange, and treble all via 2 concentric/stacked pots. Rotate the control clockwise to boost, counterclockwise to cut. There is a center detent for flat response. The mid-range control has a variable frequency knob that allows you to sweep through the mid-frequency range from 100Hz to 1KHz. This selects the frequency to boost or cut.

All EMG Pickups are built to order. Estimated shipping is between 7-14 business days.

Installed this system in a mid-90’s Conklin GT-7 7-string with stacked bartolini soap bars that always had noise and shielding issues. What a difference! The new system provides so much more control, punch, clarity, and options in tone vs. the original system. Made me love this bass all over again.

I hear Bass differently because of this preamp. I never thought I'd get use to the sweeping mids function but it grew on me & actually lets me hit the sweet spots of mids

I had the BQC installed in my Spector with a 40DC(bridge) and 40CS (neck) a few years ago. I had my tech install it as I was told there would be some work needed to enlarge the holes for the pot shafts. This was not true and my tech dropped the BQC right in. I put some different knobs on as I am not a fan of the plastic ones EMG provides. Love the preamp. Even after about 4 years I still am in awe of this preamp. 3 band is more than enough for me. I tend to leave everything flat, dial in my tone on the amp, then use the preamp to tweak as needed without walking to my amp. Great tone and can get the right tone for any style of music. Excels at metal.

originally installed in my '96 custom Resurrection 4 string by the builder. Run at 18 volts, Just WOW. The tonal options are almost limitless, and I only have 1 pickup!

2nd EMG BQC i Have bought for 2 different basses. This one controls a 35DC in the bridge and a 35CS in the neck - perfect combination - and total control of your bass tone - no need to touch amp controls after you have this setup on board. 18 Volt setup as suggested by other reviews.

Highly Recommended. I play Spector basses NS-2000/4 and NS-2A with BTS system. Perfect Spector sound.

Now I have bought a very old Spector Legend 4 with a bold on neck and what can I say, with the BQC system I almost get the sound of the old Spector basses. In a Spector Euro 4 LT I exchanged the Darkglass electronics (with middle controls inside), perfect with EMG, because now all controls work much finer and the dB volume increases are much more subtle than with others that overdrive the input in the amplifier. The only thing that bothers are the control knobs, they should have a white marking

The rich tone options and meaty grind this combination offers is quite versatile. I own a John Campbell signature Jackson that already had them installed coupled with two different bass heads depending on my flavor of the day and I must say that this set up is fantastic. I offered five stars on the installation only because I’ve installed both old hard wire and plug and play versions of EMG’s in guitars and basses and know that any amateur can install this version with ease and confidence. I play in two different bands somewhat on the opposite ends of the music spectrum and this particular set does suffice for both as I can dial in soft and colorful tones for one and devastating grind overdrive tone for the other. Of course my two rigs are somewhat worlds apart in their natural output tone however, I can confidently dial in both options and everything in between with th BQC kit. So no matter what I plug into whether it be my own gear or some back line borrowed gear, I have nothing to worry about. Thank you EMG for engineering another fantastic product well worth the time and effort to own and install.

Disclaimer: I may be a little jaded as I use EMG in every instrument I have from my 7/6 sting guitars to my 4/5 string basses and won’t use anything else due to the fact that every one of my instruments are professional grade already and the EMG electronics in each of them only made them better. The two amps are a Bugera Veyron all solid state and a Mesa TT800 both coupled with a Darkglass B7K Ultra. With or without the DG the EMG’s are brutal. So order with confidence and enjoy. You can’t go wrong with this setup.

My install of the BQC System on my 32 year old Modulus Quantum V was pretty much uneventful as I had already added a 4th hole for an EXB module @ 2 decades ago, I did need 2 extra backup nuts for the 2 stacked pots to level them on the instrument face! I used several flat washers instead to compensate! The BQC provides an unbelievable amount of equalization control right from the bass that I have not experienced until now! They are a perfect addition to any EMG Bass pickup setup!

2 notes that I'd like to make regarding the BQC install video is that the commentator called out 2 Volumes rather than an ABC and Master Volume and also should call out the 'sweepable' portion of the Mid Control!
