The original EMG PJ-Set was a staple of heavy metal bass giant Frank Bello’s legendary tone. A long-time EMG family member, he was one of the first artists to switch to X series pickups for the added headroom they provide. EMG began to experiment with different PJ combinations for Bello and the result was a pairing of epic proportions, the FB Signature Set. Loaded in a red housing, the PCSX paired with the LJAX gave him the ultimate tonal spectrum with the aesthetic he’d always wanted. The thundering chest-punch from the PCSX coupled with the articulate growl of the LJAX was the knockout combo.

The added X preamp gives both modes more headroom and touch response, bridging the gap between passive and active pickups.

Make sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.

All EMG Pickups are built to order. Estimated shipping is between 7-14 business days.

This is a really interesting set. I've tried it in a Mustang as well as MIM PJ using an ES-918 for power. I tried them with several different sets of strings, including Thomastik flats and DR Hi Beams, and these pickups produce a surprising wide range of tones. Admittedly, I really didn't know anything about Frank Bellio when I bought the set but I do now. Nice work Frank! Nice work EMG!

I purchased these pickups in combination with a BQC system. I installed these in a 90s Ibanez Soundgear SR800. These pickups and the BQC system can produce ANY sound you can imagine. I chose the 18 volt option and I highly recommend going with 18 volts. The clarity is amazing. My control cavity is pretty tight, but if you are thoughtful about how you install the four components, you can make it fit. I don't have battery routes in my bass, so I had to get creative. A word of advice regarding the installation instructions: on page 3 there is a reference to "Diagram #3 (preferred wiring order)." If you are using this install method, make sure you pay attention to the "NOTE: REVERSED CONNECTOR" in the middle of the page. The line indicating which connector to reverse is actually pointing to the wrong connector. If you observe page 4 "Diagram #4 (alternate wiring order)," the line is pointing to the correct connector and you can use this as your guide when using the "Diagram #3 (preferred wiring order)" on page 3. There are some reviews regarding the knobs that come with the BQC system. I will just say, if you are patient when lining up the concentric knobs, you can get a successful install. You just have to go slow and be patient. I would also like to take the opportunity to say that EMGs technical support AND customer support are awesome. They really want to make sure you are happy with your purchase. I couldn't be happier with my new bass. It sounds amazing and this setup is actually making me play more, as it sounds awesome.

No matter what your looking for these pickups will do it all. From thundering lows to clean snappy highs you can be sure the massive output will cut through the heaviest mix beautifully. Just what I was looking for thanx EMG
