The Lars Frederiksen passive humbucking set (LF-DMF) is a modern twist on an old school classic. The set is dressed with black chrome caps, double rows of adjustable poles and custom coil windings that make this set as unique as the rocker it was created for.

The LF-DMF set features a ceramic magnet bridge pickup for clean articulate highs and an Alnico 5 neck for a rhythmic mid-range with power. Each pickup features proprietary windings for their unique attributes. The pickups are encapsulated to keep microphonics at an absolute minimum. The stainless steel black chrome cap doesn’t interfere with the pickups inductance and prevents a muddy mid-range. Double rows of adjustable pole pieces along with custom windings insure the best noise rejection that can be had from a passive pickup. The crushing combination of design and tone make this set look as lethal as it sounds. To quote Frederiksen- “I’ve been waiting a long time for something like this, and now I got it.”

Make sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.

All EMG Pickups are built to order. Estimated shipping is between 7-14 business days.

Was looking at dirty fingers pickups and stumbled onto these... my guitar already had emg passives so I was able to just swap. They are soo good. The bridge pickup can hang with pretty much anything, the neck is alnico v so it's kind of an update on the classic dual ceramic dirty fingers setup. They really are versatile and crush anything from the clash clean tones to nirvana to thrash. I guess rancid is right in the middle of this musically. The bridge pickup doesn't get oversaturated in high gain... you can play chords on the lead channel of a mesa/boogie for instance, every note stands out. Neck pickup is just classic what you would expect from a medium hot alnico v, and complements the bridge nicely.
Also this black chrome looks really great. Subtle but classic.

Great aggressive pickup that can get tight as you want and then open up to full buzz just with hand control. Works great with tone control. Very fun to play. Will satisfy for sure.

I was looking for pickups for an old BC Rich Mockingbird that I rescued from a pawn shop because I like the body. I bought the guitar to use mostly for Drop-D and other metal tunings and these pickups were the perfect choice. The solderless installation wasn't really a selling feature for me since I can solder, but I'm now a believer. The instructions were clear and included the procedures and diagrams for 1 or 2 tone/volume pots in whatever combination you want, and comes with all the wiring you need including a crimp connection for the bridge ground. It wires into the existing switch with a small terminal block (make sure you have a very small philips screwdriver - like from an eyeglass repair kit). I did have an issue when I accidentailly wired the output jack backwards, but I contacted EMG and Anthony promptly spotted my problem and got me fixed up right away.

These pickups sound fantastic. I'm getting exactly the booming low and midrange tones I was looking for. With it switched to just the bridge pickup I get the punch I'm looking for without any distortion, it really rattles your rib cage. This is my first set of EMG pickups but it certainly won't be my last if I need another set of pickups (I'm already eyeing my Ibanez for an upgrade). I can't recommend this product highly enough.
