Brought this 5-String back to life!!!I was given a Washburn Bantam Series XB-105 5-String Bass as a birthday gift. This bass was trashed & in extremely poor condition. Whoever had it didn't take care of it all. After I cleaned it, adjusted the truss rod, bridge, intonation, & a new set of DR DDT 55-135 strings I plugged it in & all I got was feedback & noise. So I dug into to and found nothing wrong with the ground, but the pots were horrible. Sound cut in & out so bad. Looked around online & found these. After a call to Guitar Center they recommended these pickups. They said everything I needed to go from passive to active was included & no soldering! So I purchased them. After installing these pickups my bass has life!!! Everything is so distinctive & clear. Even in my band's tuning of ADGCF. Thank you EMG!!!

Killer! A+So I called EMG, spoke to guy over the phone who pointed me in the direction on this Pups. I got them with the BQC system and let me tell you they are HOT as hell and spot on!!! If your looking to compliment any EMG Guitar Pups these are it. Perfect for a profound extreme metal bass tone. The extra money for the BQC is worth it.
Pro's- sound great, look great, good install instructions, easy to install about 3 hours total, plenty of wiring for the Job!!!!
Con's- The only issue I have is the length of the battery wires. they measure about 6" so the ground didn't have enough slack to reach the input jack but!!!! They supply identical wiring with each Pup and extra heat shrink so i just had to cut and splice which was no extra effort.
So that being said it's not really a con just something to look out for if you have a battery compartment.Posted on
