The custom designed ABQ has a 3 band EQ which can be adjusted for creating different tone settings using a push/pull control (to activate/deactivate). In addition, the preamp output can be adjusted to add or reduce gain to your guitar signal. This pickup and preamp combo meets Alexi’s demands for high gain, versatility, and clarity to enhance his distinctive style. The set is available in a Floyd Rose version (F-ALX) and a standard Tune-o-matic version (ALX).

Best EMG pickup availableI have EMG pickups in all of my guitars and the two that I have put this one in outshine the rest by far. EMG out did themselves when they made this pickup . It wasn't hard at all to pair with the other passive humbucker . If you want high gain with a sick low end you won't find anything better than this.

Superb pickupJust a superb pickup. Installed in a korina V as the only pup, it liberated the guitar completely. Easy install in place of the existing pickups, long battery life and no second guessing the setting… just run with it.

One of the best pickups I’ve ever usedIt’s taken me two years, to get here to write this review. But I can say after all of this time of using my ALX Halo of Blood pickup I can honestly say it’s one of the best pickups I’ve used. Alexi Laiho has been an inspiration of mine for many years, so when I saw his pickup I had to have it. The install took me about ten minutes it was really easy, the quantity of the product is almost perfect and the fact that you don’t have to solder anything is the best part. So thank you EMG and RIP Alexi Laiho.

Absolutely WickedThe low end snarls like a wild animal and pinch harmonics scream out of the midrange just like Alexi. Took about a half hour to install in ESP Black Metal Arrow and works with the killswitch.
