Back in the early 80's adding a humbucker pickup to a Strat™ took off. Since then we've added just about every conceivable combination you can think of, and they're all available factory pre-wired. The SA/SA/89 brings together the dual mode EMG 89 for a true humbucker and single coil in the bridge, along with two Alnico V loaded single coils pickups for the neck and middle positions giving players an extremely versatile set up. Once you've decided on the system you want, it can either be fully or partially assembled depending on your guitar and the sound you want. Since all EMG's use a solderless wiring system, you can change your pickups easily at any time without any soldering.

Awesome Pickups

Izzy /Reviewed 4/12/2018

Bought this for my MIM HSS Strat, cause the original pickups were crap. Popped the EMGs in (biggest challenge was making the humbucker hole in the pickguard a bit bigger).

The sound is amazing, and since they have a higher output, all my amps react a lot better. One example is the sweet spot between clean and distortion, a staple for the blues.

Peeps that say active pickups are just for metal need to readjust their thinking. They reproduce all the nuances of the guitar, and I would even venture to say that they do it better than regular pickups.

If I could summerize in one sentece, it would be this:
Clean, noiseless, powerful, sweet.

or:
Makes my guitar sing...

I only wish they were a bit cheaper.I want to put them into my American Special, but at almost 300$USD, its a bit out of my range aa the moment.

I bought this set for my stratocaster. It was'n very cheaper but the price is justified from the prestation of it.
My lutist told me that he installed it on my guitar in 20-25 minutes.
My first impression was positive. It is very versatile and it have good performation vith the clean, with the crunch and any other effects. Buy it it's worth it

The Absolute Strat Set

Frenchy Jean-Michel /Reviewed 5/4/2014

All is in the tittle.
All under your fingers
You need vintage tone, you need modern warm tone, clean, rock, country, jazz, metal...
Get this set now !!!

I've got two of this set, one on a Warmoth Full Strat and one on a Warmoth 7/8e 24 frets Strat.
Lot of people say that EMG kills the sound of the guitar and just results a stereotype active sound !?!
Sorry for the them !
Each of my guitars sounds differently, each EMG set is respecting the woods tones, and the different scales.

Like we say in France
"Once again Bravo !!!"
Encore une fois bravo !!!
