True Strat Creamy Goodness

Mk Ultra /Reviewed 3/9/2016

After watching about a hundred Youtube pickup videos, I decided on the DG20 loaded set. First, no soldering! Second, no noise! Third, pickups do what you tell them to do. Fourth, did I mention No Soldering. This quality alone, ensures 100% playability. I've played almost every guitar through every type of amp, and I'm a lifelong Strat player. Hendrix, Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Beck, and Gary Moore. If you want to define YOUR voice on your Strat, the DG20 will allow you to do that. Covers or originals, these pickups make my amp sing or growl. Like I said, whatever I tell it to do, it's more than ready to.

A great package

Azhar Naim /Reviewed 2/16/2016

I had my first set of EMGs in 1987.It was the 2xSA 1x81 Combo. That was a surrendipitous combination and I used that for many years. Next I had a Set of SVs with the RPC pot on my 57 Strat(in those days you did things like that)which was the guitar I did ALL my sessions with. Now this same guitar which has been with me for thirty years, after being outfitted with the original PUs for a couple of years, features the DG 20 set which is really phantastic and especially live a treat, since you are free of rf interference and safe from electrocution. I simply love the SA sound which is highly idiosyncratic and musical. I recommend them highly!!!

Amazing Tonal Quality

Tommy /Reviewed 8/26/2014

Found one in a Fender Squire at a lawn shop. Had it mounted in my 2006 Clapton Strat. Clapton necks are great, but the electronics don't sound like real Strats. This made all the difference. Clean, clear and warm. Just had the same package put in a new 2013 Clapton. Great tone.

My Strat Sound

Chesire /Reviewed 5/29/2014

I found a set of these for a great price and decided to jump on the opportunity because I have wanted a red Gilmour strat since I was 14. I ended up building a whole guitar around these and it has become my favorite. The DG20s can do it all, and not just Floyd. jazz, country, rock, blues... they are great clean and howl with a distortion or fuzz. Very happy.

Very thin sound

Tommy /Reviewed 2/4/2014

If this sounds like David Gilmour's guitar then you have a different hearing of how David plays. Even in the intro it sounds thin. The lows are great but the 3 thin strings needed more work to sound like Gilmour. Gimour has a ton of equipment to get his sound, I should have know better. If you notice David Gilmour if he ever plays live again, he doesn't use this EMG setup anymore. Maybe for one song. Save your $ and just play different guitar with different pickups. When I first bought these pickups they sounded good or better than my Fender custom pickups but I needed a punch to my guitar not a high tone so thin my dog barks. Maybe its needs a curtain type battery in it. I replaced the old battery because it was getting this thin tin sound but that didn't help. I have bought 3 sets of pickups, now I'm going to go play the guitars which you can't do when you buy online. Just my opinion if you listen to the video where the guys is playing these pickups you might pickup what I'm talking about. Lows are great but when he gets to the small strings take a listen for yourself you might like this sound. I just can't try to buy a set of pickups online.
