The 707 has been leading the pack of 7-string guitar pickups since its debut in 2001. The EMG 707 eliminated the problem of a muddy low B string that often lacked rich harmonic character and definition. Featuring Alnico V loaded, wide aperture coils, EMG was able to beef up the Low B string tone while maintaining a balanced and articulate upper register. This provided the responsive and tight sound seven string players grew to love. Whether you are ringing out Opeth-style jazz chords or playing palm muted death chugs, these pickups will articulate every note, chord, and harmonic you ask of them. Used equally in the bridge and neck positions, these pickups will forever change how you hear and play your 7-string guitar. Solderless wiring makes installing the 707 easy to do on your own.

JUST GREAT!

Nuno Mello /Reviewed 4/2/2015

I just got a Dean RC7 that comes with a pair of EMG 707. JUST PERFECT! The right output for beautiful rhythms and lead tones, clarity and also a beautiful clean tone. The 7th string doesn't get muddy and as usual there's a better sustain and intonation as the the strings ring out. I had another 7 string guitar before with passive pickups and man, gotta tell you, there's no comparison between those pickups and EMGs.
If you wanna go to the best 7 string guitar sound, go straight to EMG.
These pickups are SIMPLY THE BEST!

EMGs.... They just sound good!

steven /Reviewed 3/12/2014

I have a Marshal jcm2000, an Ibanez rg series guitar and a metal zone distortion. These pickups sound awesome!! I have no complaints. I even installed them myself (very easy). They have a very full sound. My cleans are warm and smooth, my distortion is thick and full. The harmonics just scream so easily! When I first purchased them, I went to jam with a friend. We started playing and my friends girlfriend asked why my guitar sounded so much better.... two weeks later he had went out and bought a set of emgs.

Not bad

jahka /Reviewed 3/8/2014

I got these pickup's stock with my agile interceptor and haven't been bummed about the tone but the gain that it outputs is a very specific kind of sound. The articulation is very good with jazz metal stuff and its tight, but the bridge is weak in comparison to neck. It pushes the guitar to have the ability to sound like thrash to djent, but there needs to be a wider variety of range with the clean stuff. Dynamics are also strange to deal with, it doesn't feel natural.

Me encanta como suena, incluso la encuentro más orgánica y poderosa que mi set emg 81-85. La amo!

Eh

Personally, this is a very "eh" pickup. I got it stock with a Dean RC7X and just thought it was a very BORING sound, at least in the bridge.

In the neck, however, it's very nice. Kinda subtle, too. I would recommend it more for the neck position.

EMG 707

Jazzydex /Reviewed 12/27/2013

While I feel that this is not the pickup for everyone, they are articulate to a fault, very clean. You need to have monster distortion, good thing I have an Egnater Armageddon! I don't think there is quite enough response for harmonics unless you have the gain to support it. Same in a Jackson as in a Jeff Loomis to that end. A little more beef would be preferred.
I would like the neck position to have a bit more beef to it, like a Seymour Duncan Blackout without all of the overhead distortion to keep the articulate tone of the 707 in tact. Overall, with the right amp these are some good pickups. Loving to see EMG putting out more 7 string options though!
