Andreas Farmakalidis is a freelance acoustic & electric bass player, songwriter, composer, a published musical author as well as an educator based in California. Since graduating -magna cum laude- from the esteemed Berklee College of Music (BMus) and Brandeis University (MFA), he has gained a wide range of international experience as a performer, composer and educator focusing on music analysis/composition. Andreas has shared the stage and/or recorded with many international acts such as:

WAR, Marty Friedman, Alexis Lopez, Ayaka Hirahara, Ryan Cabrera, Heleen Schuttevaer , aika, Greek Xfactor, Greek Idol artists, American Idol artists, Steven Adler (Guns’n’Roses) among several others.

Andreas has published articles in Bass Player magazine, Bass Musician Magazine and No Treble. His first music book is published through Academic Publishing and focuses on observations and analyses in the music of Ornette Coleman.

Moreover, he has toured all over the USA and Europe including performances in most of the major Music festivals such as North Sea Jazz festival, 2005 European Bass Day, Florida Music Festival, SXSW, NXNE, Summerfest, KISS fest, KIIS and many more.

Andreas started using EMG pickups during his first Major Label recording session in order to make the vintage fender bass sound punchier and up to date
