Jack Doolan/ Cypher16
Cypher16 are a hugely talented, innovative organic rock band, fusing electronic and metal influences with hints of industrial to create their own unique musical mix. The band has toured in the US, UK and Europe, playing with the likes of Mudvayne, In This Moment, Death Angel and Dark Tranquility. Cypher16 are also the only Western rock band to tour in India five times, sharing bills with Children Of Bodom and Lacuna Coil, and headlining festivals to thousands of people. It was at one of these festivals in fact that Jack truly fell in love with EMG pickups, having recently opted to swap them into the ESP Guitar that he had taken to India. Having to deal with an unknown amplifier for the show, he found that he heavily relied on the pickups to support the sound he wanted, and the sheer power and precision of the 81 and 60 combination did not disappoint! Needless to say, those same pickups stayed when he arrived back in the UK, and remain to this day!
Having filmed epic videos in both Gloucester Cathedral and the legendary Battersea Power Station in London Cypher16 has always looked to visually match the huge soundscapes they have produced across their three EP’s so far, and, working with producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, SikTh, Young Guns) have shot to the top of video channels such as SCUZZ TV.
Recently METAL HAMMER Magazine chose to both re-release ‘The Metaphorical Apocalypse’ EP, and then almost immediately debut the band’s latest offering, ‘Determine’. Metal Hammer has never before championed a band by releasing two consecutive records through the magazine, and this is testament to the impact of Cypher16’s music, drive and determination to succeed.
The band plays the 2013 edition of the Bloodstock Festival, featuring Slayer, Lamb of God, Anthrax and many more.
