The Commander-In-Chief

24 year old Norwegian 7 string guitarist/singer/songwriter in Metal, "The Commander-In-Chief", was featured as "one of ten modern guitar Gods" in Metal Hammer UK, alongside Tosin Abasi and Alexi Laiho (september 2012). Total Guitar Magazine said "she changes the face of the shred stereotype" (February 2012). She was featured in Revolver Magazine as their hottest chick in Hard Rock in July/August 2012. In January 2013 she was featured by Norway´s leading Broadcasting Corporation, NRK, who filmed her at home in her music room. She also had her first front page cover for a printed magazine, Megafon, in Norway in 2013.

Her official debut single, her adrenaline fuelled version of Black Sabbath´s "Paranoid" was nominated as "Best Metal Song 2011" by Hollywood Music in Media Awards and gave her lots of fans around the world. Her debut EP "Evolution" was released digitally in 2012 and received outstanding reviews. The title track was also nominated as Best Metal Song 2012 by HHMA. The EP was 100% organic with no Auto tune or ProTools magic and she did all guitars and vocals herself. Produced by acclaimed Pantera engineer/producer Sterling Winfield, who said this about her;

"When the unique talents of "The Commander In Chief" crossed my desk a few months ago, I was blown away! This was definitely new and different!

In my twenty plus years as a producer and engineer I can honestly say that I have never seen or heard anything like what she has to offer."

In August 2012 she attracted a huge audience at Bloodstock Metal Festival in England, despite being the first artist on stage the first morning. Apart from her very technical guitar playing, both rhythm and lead, she impresses the audience with her innovative and catchy songwriting and her unmatched vocal range/skills. Her 4 octave range includes a supersonic register all the way up to B6. She is a professionally trained opera singer.

She is an official Ibanez artist, playing the one-of-a-kind prototype Falchion 7. She also endorses Laney Amps, Audix microphones (she is in their 2013 catalog), PreSonus, Ernie Ball and Jim Dunlop. She is extremely proud to announce that she is now part of the EMG artist roster. After trying their pickups she made this statement:

"Never before has my one-of-a-kind Ibanez Falchion 7 string guitar sounded this ballsy! The EMG 57-7H bridge pickup has lots of bass with all the notes clearly defined, even in the fastest riffs. The 66-7H allows me to play through Arpeggios with a clear, sweet and defined sound. The guitar solos have a round, classic tone that I have always been looking for. For the first time my guitar sounds amazing no matter which channel I use on my amp. These EMG pickups have unleashed to full potential of my guitar!"

She can next be seen at Scandinavia´s biggest cultural festival (Bergen International festival) on June 1st, where she will represent the Metal genre at their guitar fest, featuring 6 guitarists from very different genres. She will release the music video for her song "Evolution" during spring/early summer 2013.

She is also a visual artist, she designs her own stage outfits and she just finished her first children´s book. She speaks 4 languages.
