Anton Reisenegger / PENTAGRAM CHILE, CRIMINAL, LOCK UP

In the 1980s, Chilean guitarist/vocalist Anton Reisenegger formed one of the most influential death metal bands of the time, PENTAGRAM (now reformed as PENTAGRAM CHILE). Although the band only got to record two demos (with three tracks each), they are still cited as an inspiration by artists such as AT THE GATES, ENTOMBED, DARKTHRONE and NAPALM DEATH, with the latter even recording a cover of the PENTAGRAM song “Demoniac Possession”.

In the 1990s, Anton went on to form CRIMINAL, who became one of the most popular South American metal bands ever with their violent mixture of death metal, thrash and hardcore. The band toured most of the subcontinent, opening shows for the likes of KREATOR, SLAYER, SEPULTURA, MOTÖRHEAD and BRUCE DICKINSON, sold tens of thousands of albums and received heavy rotation on MTV Latino. Recently CRIMINAL played as direct support to METALLICA in Santiago in front of 55,000 metalheads.

In the 2000s, Anton joined the death metal/grindcore supergroup LOCK UP alongside Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, BRUJERIA), Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES) and Nick Barker (BRUJERIA, ex DIMMU BORGIR, ex CRADLE OF FILTH). After releasing the album “Necropolis Transparent” through Nuclear Blast Records, the band went on to play most major European metal festivals such as Wacken and Hellfest, and headlined tours of North America, Japan, the UK and Scandinavia.

No matter if playing grind/death with LOCK UP, pure thrash with CRIMINAL, or doomy old-school death metal with PENTAGRAM CHILE, Anton relies on EMG pickups to find the ideal tone for each project.
