As a performer, Damon Marks has worked as a guitarist on Alicia Keys’ Freedom Tour playing guitar for Jermaine Paul, the 2012 winner of NBC's "The Voice" As a part of the tour, Damon played in numerous world-renowned arenas such as Madison Square Garden, The Prudential Center, and Trump Taj Mahal. Over the course of his career, he has also collaborated with a diverse range of very notable musicians. Damon also helmed and played lead guitar for the female-fronted rock band, Lipstick Magazine. Notably, Damon co-produced Lipstick Magazine’s 2008 debut album, Skin Deep, alongside Grammy Award winning engineer Mark Plotnikoff. To support Skin Deep, Lipstick Magazine toured extensively and opened for heavy metal icons such as Bret Michaels, Winger, Sebastian Bach, Extreme, and Ratt. During the tour, Lipstick Magazine also played the Rocklahoma Festival.
In 2010, Damon founded the Traveling Guitar Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides equipment and support for school systems that are struggling to finance their music education programs. With Damon’s leadership and business acumen, the Foundation has worked to ensure that school children have access to high-quality musical instruments and instruction during a time when school systems across the country are facing budgetary restraints. Damon believes that music showcases creativity and brings joy to people's lives. Moreover, Damon maintains that a meaningful music education also nurtures children's intellectual and communal development. Interestingly, Damon can personally testify to the importance of being exposed to music at a young age. His father, Tony Marks, was an original member of Frankie Valli’s first group, The Four Lovers, and a huge influence on his own musical maturation.
