Dave Young/ Devin Townsend Project
Dave Young of Vancouver, BC is the guitarist and keyboard player with the Devin Townsend Project. Working with the inimitable Devin Townsend both live and in the studio for over a decade, Young has honed a versatile and powerful sound. Non-stop touring and recording since 2010 have produced a four album box set (Contain Us) and a four show DVD box set (By a Thread), wherein Young, with the Devin Townsend Project, perform a true gamut of rock music as only they do.
Starting with classical piano lessons at a young age, and continuing on to the guitar in his teens, Young's breadth of experience with standout Vancouver bands including Ten Ways, Evenlight and The Matinee, have lead him to prefer PRS guitars, especially the SE Baritone series loaded with EMG Pickups that he continues to use live.
Recently, Dave finished laying down tracks for Devin's new record, Epicloud, which will be released in the fall of 2012, and he has also started work on his own ambient/instrumental project, Auger. Dave has always loved the immense power and articulation he gets from EMG Pickups, and is incredibly awesome at using them!
