1349 is a black metal band hailing from Oslo, Norway. They have been compared to the early incarnations of Enslaved, Emperor, Burzum, and Darkthrone, in that they do not use synthesizers and lean toward the heavy end of the black metal spectrum. The band name 1349 comes from the year the plague reached Norway.
Guitarist Archaon, and bass player Seidemann are longtime EMG users respectively favoring the 81/85 combo and MMTW and PJ sets. Seidemann had this to say about EMG, “I like... EMG" (but in the voice of Borat). 1349 is currently recording their fourth as yet unnamed album, and will undoubtedly return to slay the masses with their blackness as soon as they can.
